Trusted Results in Civil Litigation.
Our client, who ran a private school, came to us to defend the school and one of its employees in an assault and battery charge made against the employee by a student. We tendered the case to our client's insurance company; they declined to defend or indemnify our client. After continuing our client's defense and settling the case for $25,000 (which cost $30,000 to defend), we engaged an attorney to pursue a bad faith claim against the insurance company for $55,000 in damages. We consulted and worked in the background with the outside attorney who reached a settlement with the insurance company on the day of trial for $850,000.

Our client came to us after contractors doing street work for Los Angeles County damaged her home. The client received an estimate of $3,600 to repair the damage and was directed to the County's insurance company which refused to talk with her. We were brought in and our expert assessed the damage to the house caused by the digging and shaking. We filed a lawsuit for the damage and settled and settled the case for $25,000 after serving the complaint.

Our client was sued for recovery of hazardous waste brought to a site. We identified and brought in several other parties who also contributed to the contamination, and immediately moved the case into mediation. We negotiated a settlement which was approximately half of the original demand. Our client paid one-third of the total settlement. The other parties who were brought into the case paid two-thirds of the settlement amount. We are currently involved in two similar cases. In all three cases, we tendered the lawsuit to our clients' insurance carriers, who agreed to hire our firm to defend our clients.
